Socialist Revolution is the Only Solution

This is a brand-new blog. As such, I think it best if I introduce myself and explain why I am starting a blog. First of all, I'm a retired journalist, so writing is a part of me, it's in my blood, so to speak. However, I only occasionally write anymore. I've drifted away from writing journalistically, focusing instead on writing novels, although I don't have any published yet.

The major reason I'm starting a blog though is the sad-dilapidated condition of my country and my world.

I am a lifelong communist, and to any communist in America today, we are confronted with a lot of bad news. Take the elections, for instance. We have two equally criminal and pathetic political parties that have a monopoly over power and have had that monopoly since the 1850s. Both of which are running senile, stupid, foolish men for president neither of whom would make a good dog catcher, much less the president of the richest and most powerful nation in the world. The United States of America is a nation that functions as the world hegemon and runs a world=spanning repressive, murderous empire. Neither of the two presidential candidates nor their parties offers anything but misery and oppression to the working class that makes up 70 percent of the adult population.

The real unemployment rate (not the official rate, which is a lie) is sky-high and has been that way since the 2008 global depression--which is still going on--started. Michael Roberts, the British Marxist economist, proves convincingly in his books that the long depression that started in 2008 is still with us today and that unemployment is quite a bit higher in most parts of the world than official figures let on, including in America and the UK.

So, economically, socially and politically, the world today under US/UK hegemony is beyond sad, it is brutal, yet lamentable.

And in my opinion, there is only one way out of this dilemma: socialist revolution. And that is why I'm starting this blog. I'm old now, and can't do a lot of the organizing I once did. But I can still write, and so, I'll write about socialist revolution.

The one bright spot I see today is the latest generation coming up, a generation half of whom are socialist and there are even many communists as part of that. One poll a few years back claimed that one-third of youth in America are communist, and I believe it. And many polls from 2010 to 2021 claim that half of all youth are socialist, We have a ways to go, but as far as how many people actually claim to be socialist today, we are in better shape than at any other point in my life--I was born in 1954. We've come a long way since 1954 and we are much more socialist today than we were then!

Yet, given that fact, there is still a lot of organizing we need to do. And it should start with the youth who have the ideas, but not the organization, for the most part, although I do have a few young friends who are organizing and making a difference.

Building a new Marxist-Leninist party, a democratic-centralist party that is focused on socialist revolution above all else would be a good start, and despite the existence of a few "communist" and "socialist" parties, none of those around today fits the bill of a party that is dedicated to socialist revolution and building a party of professional socialist revolutionaries. In fact, practically all of them are dedicated in one way or another to building the CAPITALIST Democrat and Republican parties, mostly the Democrats!.

Yes, what we need now is a Marxist-Leninist party dedicated to socialist revolution, not to the CAPITALIST Democrat Party.
